If you are in business, and you want to be successful, then you had better have a degree. These days, with Universities being easier to get into, and decent undergraduate grades easier to come by, more and more people are studying at University and gaining degrees. Whether we like it or not, having a degree opens doors. It marks you out as belonging to a certain group of people and simply seeing the letters after your name can sometimes be the difference between someone thinking you can or can’t cut it.
If you are in the unfortunate position of having reached the age whereby you should have a degree and you don’t then you really ought to think about trying to do something about it. There are a couple of options. Firstly of all, you can think about gaining a degree in the normal manner. This will involve a lengthy application process, and by lengthy, I mean nearly a year. When, and more importantly, if you are accepted onto a course, you have at least another three years to go before you finish the degree, and you have no guarantee that you are going to pass, or that you are going to be able to afford to continue through three years without a full time job.
