Contest Format

• Students of Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, and Electrical Engineering stream from select institutes are invited to take part in the contest

• The 2 categories of the contest are open to 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate and 1st year post graduate science and engineering students only

• The teams for the contest should be nominated by the institute faculty, dean or head of department (HoD). Students are not allowed to enter the contest directly

• Students to choose their topics from the list as outlined in Invited Research Tracks

• Only those research proposals falling under the invited research areas (as mentioned in the Annexure A of the contest handbook) will be considered for evaluation

• Each institute can submit any number of entries from each department with the participation of not more than 2 students per team

• For projects which might require more than 2 members, a written requisition is required from the institute, which could be considered on a special basis. Decision of the contest Steering committee will be final and binding

• The teams that are interested to participate are to register online by the 15th of April 2008

• Only one research proposal per team is allowed for submission from any one of the research tracks

• Registered teams should submit a letter of intent along with a registration form and their proposal in a format as given in Annexure H and I by the 10th of May 2008

• Participation in the contest shall be construed as an acceptance of the Terms and Conditions

• Evaluation will be done on the Project Synopsis and selected teams, based on the selection process, will be invited for a Poster Presentation at Intel Technology, Bangalore in July 2008. Confirmed dates for the poster presentation will be communicated to the selected teams

• A technologist from Intel will be assigned to each of the teams selected for the poster presentation as an industry mentor. The selected teams will be invited to present a poster as per the guidelines outlined in Annexure D of the contest handbook

• A panel of judges from Intel India will evaluate the proposals to select teams for the final presentation

• The selected teams will be given time to work on the project and present the same at the Project Presentation in October 2008, dates for which will be confirmed and communicated to the selected teams

The panel of judges will evaluate the projects and select 3 teams as winners for the Finals. The top 3 teams in each category will receive Rs. 50,000/- each (per team) as prize money*
