If you are in business, and you want to be successful, then you had better have a degree. These days, with Universities being easier to get into, and decent undergraduate grades easier to come by, more and more people are studying at University and gaining degrees. Whether we like it or not, having a degree opens doors. It marks you out as belonging to a certain group of people and simply seeing the letters after your name can sometimes be the difference between someone thinking you can or can’t cut it.
If you are in the unfortunate position of having reached the age whereby you should have a degree and you don’t then you really ought to think about trying to do something about it. There are a couple of options. Firstly of all, you can think about gaining a degree in the normal manner. This will involve a lengthy application process, and by lengthy, I mean nearly a year. When, and more importantly, if you are accepted onto a course, you have at least another three years to go before you finish the degree, and you have no guarantee that you are going to pass, or that you are going to be able to afford to continue through three years without a full time job. Sounds risky doesn’t it? As I said there are a couple of options. Another option is to check out a great website we have recently found, called buydegree.org.
This site is literally a site where you can buy a degree online. This means that you only wait for five days to receive the degree, it is from a fully accredited college, and you have no chance of failing! I think anyone would be mad not to buy degree!

If you are a student athlete who aspires to continue his career in sports and has built hopes into going into varsity after joining a college and are confident that you can make the coaches notice you enough to offer a scholarship for you, then that will be very much helpful to you and will be very helpful while studying. Studying in a college is a very expensive business and many parents may not be able to afford it. Hence, your talents must be your capital and you should be able to use it and get into a sports scholarship and enter a college and after doing so also, you must retain your passion for sports and being an athlete.

So, if you do some researches, you may be able to find out about sports scholarship programs. However, to start your research, you must know where to look for and what to look for.

Instead of looking on the net in your computer and searching for sports scholarship programs, buy the book named Peterson’s Guidebook which is very popular among people looking for sports scholarship programs. You can read this book and gain information on things like getting into the best sports scholarship, and in finding a college that tailors the needs that you have.

The Peterson’s Guidebook was published as Peterson’s College Athletic and Sports Scholarship Programs in August 2004. It is a book that provides information on the different scholarships offered by different colleges, inter-college athletic programs, financial details and other things that are needed for making a decision on the college that is to be chosen for each and every college known in the USA. This book is mainly for students who wish to pursue their career in athletics but also are facing a financial difficulty in getting into a good college.

This does sound interesting.

It supplies information on all sports scholarship programs available in the USA. It reveals detailed information on details of many athletic programs provided by about 1700 2 year schools and 4 year schools along with their associations and affiliations. It provides the contacts of many college coaches, detailed descriptions of the facilities available and rates of graduation for sports athletes. It lists, in addition to all these, about thirty sports and games for women and men and their references on the other schools that offer similar sports. Hence, you can check if the sport in which you are proficient is available and recognized in the other colleges that offer sports scholarships too.

The contents of the Petersons Guide are listed:

- The Process of Recruitment, which helps in finding the perfect college that, provides athletics, and other issues related to recruitment.
- Coach’s Forum that states views of various head coaches of various sports in different universities and colleges in the USA.
- The National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Guide for Student Athletes tackles the requirements related to eligibility of student athletes to various college sports scholarships and also NCAA eligibility for clearinghouse initially.
- The alphabetical listing of different college athletic and sports scholarship programs.
- Indexes that include the geographic listing of many athletic programs, sorted based on the belonging division and the sport.

Through the Peterson’s guide book, you can achieve your dream for becoming a student athlete and also doing your college degree along with it. Such a thing is the best that can be given to you by yourself and so you must never shirk away from such an opportunity.

By: Abhishek Agarwal

About the Author:

Not all of us is aware of the process you have to follow in order to get a scholarship and in their confusion many parents or significant others simply fail to save on thousands of dollars spent on the education of their children. Financial aid like scholarships and grants are basically money gifted to students or pupils to help them get through college or university and can be in various forms. They are different from student loans in the sense that they don’t have to be paid back.

This kind of education financing can be paid either directly to the student or paid to the university or college to make up for the fees. Several agencies award scholarships including government, clubs, charities, businesses, schools and even cooperative organization. Parents and students should be aware it is not only the top performing students who are eligible for a scholarship. As a matter of fact, almost every student can get scholarships depending on his or her abilities.

Another misconception about this way to finance your education is it is available only to high school students who are seeking admission in college. Fact is such financial grants are available to all levels of college or university studies, right from freshman years to graduates and even PhD students.

Scholarships can be applied for on a variety of reasons right from your abilities to your following a certain religion. The range of this study financing option available include athletic scholarships, scholarships for students in a particular field of study or even scholarships for students living or studying in a particular city or state. The sources for scholarships are also literally unlimited – even a simple internet search would reveal numerous sources.

To get the scholarship you want you need to do some grunt work first. The first step is to take the initiative and apply for it. Look for scholarship grants where their criteria match your position and after you find them, contact the provider and ask for an application form. Many scholarship providers allow you to download their application forms from their website while others require you to send a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Be careful to follow all the deadlines set by the scholarship providers – for filling in and submitting the forms, providing all your necessary documentation and appearing for an interview if they call you for one. Be organized in your scholarship applications – keep all necessary documents including reference and recommendation letters as well as course transcripts ready at hand so that you don’t need to run around for them at the last minute.

Always make copies of all your completed applications before submitting them and file them properly with all necessary details for easy reference. If your mail copy is lost by accident, you can always send in a follow up copy from the one you made. Last but not least, stay positive about yourself and your chances of getting a scholarship. The hard work you put in and the time you spent towards searching for scholarships will definitely bring you decent results.

By: Nic Haffner

About the Author:

Because the majority of scholarships require applicants to write at least one essay, it’s very important that the essay you write speaks to the scholarship judges. Not only must you meet their specific criteria, but you must also make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors.

Additionally, you need to make sure the quality of your essay is up to par with their requirements, which may seem very intimidating. Many students struggle with the writing process to begin with, and having to craft a well-written essay on another topic may seem like too much work to bother with.

However, if you are serious about obtaining scholarship money for college, then you need to prepare for the fact that you will have to write an essay or two for most of the scholarships you apply for. While many scholarships have writing prompts you are expected to answer in your essay, the primary goal for judges is to gain an understanding of you who are as a person – your beliefs and ideas should show through when you’re writing the essay.

Starting the Essay

Unfortunately, the beginning of your essay is oftentimes the hardest part. How do you begin? Well, there are a few general guidelines to keep in mind when you’re starting your essay.

1. Understand the Purpose

First and foremost, you must gain an understanding of why you are writing this essay. What reason could the judges have had for picking their particular question to base your essay on? Analyze the writing prompt. Figure out why you are writing what you’re writing. You can also write down the essay question and figure out how many parts the question has, and what order you need to structure your essay in according to the prompt.

You can also figure out if the essay question requires any research beforehand, or whether the question can be answered through your life experiences alone. Additionally, because the ultimate goal behind any scholarship essay question is to learn more about you, figure out how the judges will learn more about you through your essay.

2. Goals

Before beginning any essay, you need to figure out what your goals for the essay are. These goals will vary depending on the specific essay question and whom you are writing the essay for. For example, one of your goals may be to show the judges through your writing that you have a healthy balance between your personal life and your academic life. Another goal may be to demonstrate that you were able to succeed despite many difficult obstacles you faced throughout your life.
These goals are only examples, and your goals may be similar or different depending on the essay topic. The bottom line is to formulate a set of goals for your writing and allow your personal character to show through. During this process, you’ll also want to develop an overall theme for your essay that relates you to the subject you are writing about, whatever the topic might be.

3. Create an Outline

While some people choose to begin writing without having a plan in place, for a scholarship essay you might find it easier to begin with an outline in place. With an outline, you can be sure you are covering every point you want to hit on in your essay, and you’ll have a guideline to follow when you’re trying to structure your essay in a logical way.

Once you’ve determined your writing goals, settled on a theme for your essay and created a general outline, it’s time to write the first draft. Notice I said “first” draft – an essay is rarely, if ever, ready on the first try. When you’ve written your first draft, it’s time to go over your essay and see which areas could use a bit of improvement.

Revise

The key to crafting a well-written essay is to show the judges rather than telling them. If there are specific examples in your essay that tell something, jazz it up by showing the judges why that’s important and how that example is relevant to your life and the essay topic. Additionally, remember to keep the essay in present tense as much as possible. It might not always work, but if you can use it, do so!

Another tip to keep in mind when you’re revising your essay is to eliminate as many unnecessary words as possible. You want to be as succinct as you can, which means saying what you need to say in as few words as possible. Sometimes you’ll discover that isn’t always possible, but if you notice a part of your essay that can be revised using fewer words, it’s always a good idea.

Double-check your introduction and ensure it’s captivating enough to gain the attention of the judges. If they aren’t interested by the first sentence, they’re probably not going to read the rest of your essay. In a way, your introduction is the most important part of the paper – it gives your readers an idea of what’s to come next.

Finally, you need to finish up with a solid conclusion. Don’t merely re-summarize every point in your essay. Instead, sum up the main point and keep it short and sweet. Once you’ve revised your essay, set it aside for awhile so you can come back to it with fresh eyes. You may discover it needs more work, and you’ll probably notice a few mistakes you didn’t catch beforehand.

Once you think you have a well-crafted, acceptable essay, you can congratulate yourself. You’ve made it through the hardest part of the scholarship application! Regardless of the essay topic or whom you’re writing the essay for, it’s important to keep the above guidelines in mind in order to create the best essay you possibly can. The important things to remember is to let your unique views come through in the essay so the judges can, ultimately, learn about you through the essay prompt.

Writing the scholarship essay may seem like an impossible task, but with a bit of hard work and the above tips to guide you, you can create a well-written essay that lets the judges know what a unique individual you are.

By: Andre Alonzo

About the Author:

The first thing you must do is get your GPA as high as possible.

The second thing you must do is Apply for scholarships.

(You can use free scholarship searches to apply for scholarships)

The third thing that you absolutely must do is follow through and be persistent.

Scholarships and GPAs

The correlation here is that some scholarships require that you have and maintain a certain GPA.
Other scholarships won’t allow you to apply for scholarships unless your GPA meets their requirements.

The higher your GPA the higher the chance that you will have success when you apply for scholarships.

The reason GPA or grade point average has such a strong correlation is because when a scholarship is rewarded, it goes to a student who demonstrates exceptional ability inside of the classroom.

Apply for Scholarships

This should be an obvious set in getting a scholarship. But would you believe that there is a large
number of scholarships that aren’t even applied for every year? Exactly free money for college that students are not claiming. This one fact alone should motivate any student to apply for a scholarship.

It doesn’t cost anything to apply, be aware of scholarship scams and schemes that charge you a fee but promises a big scholarship in return. All scholarships are free!

Scholarship Searches

There are tons of free scholarship searches available. The two most popular free scholarship searches are Fastweb and Scholarship Experts. Read more by going to the source at the bottom of this page.

Be Persistent

When you are searching for scholarships it is important that you be persistent. Meaning if you
apply for a scholarship and you list your email as a way to contact you, check your email periodically. Don’t use a phony email because it will not benefit you. Don’t give up and keep applying for scholarships.

You will have success. Good luck.

By: Melvin Le

About the Author:

If you are an artist looking forward to nailing a scholarship to get you a college degree, you must be aware that the competition for artistic scholarships is tight. But with the proper preparation and some savvy, you can enhance your chances of getting a college tuition grant and perhaps graduate college without shelling out a single dime.

The first thing you need to do is scour all possible sources of scholarships. That is, you need to survey your potential sponsors and narrow them down accordingly to your skills as well as your specifications. Apart from colleges and universities, the best places to look would be professional organizations, arts festivals and competitions, and art schools. One thing to remember, make sure that you do this a year or more prior to the deadline of application.

Second, you must realize that there areas in art that you are not good at. Given the yearlong time frame, you have more than enough time to substantially fill any lacking skills that so that you can satisfy the program’s requirement. This is called good positioning. Once you get yourself in a very favorable position, then your chances of getting your college scholarship application approved increases dramatically.

Last but not least, do not wait for the deadline. You must submit your application as early as possible. Your application, as well as other supporting documents such as your GPAs and recommendation letter from your Arts teacher, should be packed neatly and orderly.

One last thing, not all college tuition grants and arts scholarships are created to fund you all the way. Although there are some programs, the competition is tight as mentioned earlier. If you get approved for small scholarship fund, just be happy that you did and make most out it.

By: Anne Jones

About the Author:

If you are serious about attending college and would like the opportunity to earn money to do so, you have to put in a little effort to find those hidden gems.

Take Initiative

Scholarships are not going to fall into your lap. As much as you might hate the process of searching for scholarships, you have to put in a bit of work to reap the rewards. This guide will aim to show you various scholarship opportunities for African American students, and how to find the ones that best suit your needs.

However, you are the one who ultimately must put in the legwork of rooting through the information and applying for the scholarships that interest you.

Scholarship Opportunities

Interested in applying for scholarships? The following list will guide you to the scholarships that offer money to African American students, and how you can apply for these awards. This is not an all-inclusive list; it’s a select group of quality scholarship opportunities that can get you started on your research.

You may find that all of them suit your needs, or you may find that none of them do. Whatever the case may be, these scholarship links are designed to help you on your path to finding scholarship opportunities that are right for you.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund is an excellent scholarship opportunity. Additionally, the scholarship can only be used to pay for books, room and board, college tuition and/or other educational fees. For a full list of requirements, please visit their website for more information.

United Negro College Fund

Another quality resource, the United Negro College Fund offers minority students the chance to apply for numerous scholarship opportunities. Their scholarships help cover all educational costs including tuition, room and board, books and other fees. Visit their website to fill out a general application, where you will then be matched up with the opportunities that best suit your needs.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

For minority accounting students, this scholarship opportunity awards up to $5,000 for students who demonstrate outstanding educational abilities. By browsing the resources listed above, you are already well on your way to finding scholarship opportunities that suit your educational goals.

The Bottom Line

There’s no doubt about it – college is expensive. Finding scholarship opportunities for minority students can be frustrating, but you’re already armed with the basic information you need to begin your search. The key thing to remember when applying for scholarships is to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for each scholarship you’re applying for.
You’ll save a lot of time in the long run by thoroughly checking to make sure you’re applying for opportunities that not only meet your needs, but that you also meet the requirements for. That way, even if you switch your major during the school year you will still be eligible for the scholarship. Open-ended degree scholarships are useful even if you know what you’d like to study, since they’re open to any academic major.

Similarly, if you do know what you plan to study and don’t have any plans of changing your major, you may want to research scholarship opportunities that are available specifically for your degree path. If you’re studying journalism, look for a scholarship that caters to minority journalism students. Similarly, if you are pursuing a degree for law, look for opportunities that help minority law students fund their college education.

There are countless opportunities available to minority college students who wish to pursue a degree in higher education. You’ve been given the basics – now, it’s your turn to start applying for the opportunities that will best work for your educational goals!

By: Andre Alonzo

About the Author:

What is a scholarship? A scholarship is an amount of money applied straightforwardly to your college costs that you are awarded based on academic good point, financial want, or a combination of the two. There you will receive scholarships in some form to help you compensate your fees, books, room, and sometimes other expenditures such as travel. It is said that there is billion dollars financial help out there. There are many minority, career, or grade specific scholarships out there and to go through them and find out they don’t apply to you is a little discouraging but as long as you’ve done impressive thing or can make an essay, there is probability a scholarship out there for you.

What’s scholarship essentially worth? There is no set amount that you can guess from college scholarships. Every scholarship come from a special source and award amount of money based on various conditions. For instance, you may obtain scholarship from your local supermarkets with amount smaller than the one you receive from a National Corporation scholarship. Scholarships may be a one-occasion award, or they may lengthen over some semesters or years. If they are not one-occasion sum of money, so probably you need to keep a definite GPA to keep the scholarship.

For what basis can I obtain scholarships? Most people think of scholarships as rewards for A students – that’s true for a little percentage of scholarships. However, most scholarships are based on various qualities and accomplishments: academics, test scores, ethnic origin, employer, career purposes, selection of major, etc. And while many scholarships are based on your plus points in competition with other students, many scholarships, first and foremost those awarded by colleges, are based on financial need as well as your brilliance, or just financial need by itself.

Where should I look for scholarships?

Look Online. Scholarship search databases hold a lot of scholarships. Many won’t be quite right for you, or are very small awards; but others may really suit you. But don’t apply to a hundred scholarships just because they’re there. As an alternative, pick out a dozen or so that perfectly fit your needs and qualities, and fill out the best application you probably can for those.

Look In Your Own Locality. There are local communities, clubs, local newspaper, the power plant, etc. They may award scholarships to college students in area. To find these scholarships, you’ll need to seek. Read your local paper, especially the community news. Call local agencies and ask if they sponsor any college scholarships. Call local television station and large employers in your area to ask that. Sometimes, some employers provides small scholarships; so have your parents ask their employers if there are scholarships for children of employees.

Speak With Your College Authority. By talking to the persons in the office of the college, you may be able to get some guides on scholarships that are detailed to students. Let them know when you speak to them how serious you are, and they will probably give you help. If you’re going to do great effort financially, let them in the office know this. There are programs to help students who really wants. People in the office will know how to get that money.

In order to obtain these free aid you must fill out applications and write papers, they are hard work but as it says in numerous scholarship books, if you are willing to do the work for one, you are possibly already half done with the next one. Make sure you save a copy of every single one of the extra-curriculars that you took part. Don’t forget to keep those recommendations handy. These are kinds of files that you’ll just need to use over and over.

In your paper, focus on yourself. A scholarship is often awarded in a very subjective way. Many awards committees, faced with kids they really like, choose the one they like the best. And they decide that based primarily on the paper. Besides, it is often best to plan out what you’re going to say, and be sincere; too much buff up can work against you if it makes you seem insincere. Tell about yourself with description and scenery that demonstrates how that things changed you in a way that makes you a right candidate. Of course, each awards committee is special in their judgment. But they will be impressed if you make sure that your grammar and spelling are faultless.

Of course, the amount of scholarship sources is limited. However, that doesn’t suggest that you shouldn’t try to acquire your fair share. In reality, many people give up and say I can’t possibly succeed. That’s plainly not right. At least you’ve got to try to have your part of those scholarship aid.

By: Ozie Lea

About the Author:
